‘Rising Phoenix of a Hundred Birds’
To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC), the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and First Initiative Foundation jointly present ‘Rising Phoenix of a Hundred Birds’ Exhibition as one of the celebration programmes. Designed by artist Victor Wong, the exhibition employs paper art to express reverence for traditional Chinese craftsmanship while pursuing technical innovation within tradition.
Augmented reality (AR) technology is integrated to transform passive viewing into active exploration for audiences. Visitors can enjoy lifelike animated birds flying through the HKCC for a truly unforgettable experience. The exhibition showcases the dynamic beauty and diversity of birds, symbolizing freedom, vitality, creativity, and the cultural richness of Hong Kong.

Beautiful Harmony

French May Arts Festival proudly presents Beautiful Harmony, a captivating piano and flute duo concert by internationally awarded pianist Niu Niu and rising star flautist Cocomi. Besides creating and weaving tranquil harmonies and melodies through their enchanting musicianship, the concert will feature a mesmerising poetry reading, where the spoken word intertwines with enchanting music, evoking emotions and painting vivid imagery. The duo will perform pieces by some of the greatest European composers, including Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, and Sergei Rachmaninov, to name a few. Other highlights comprise the performance of
L’eau composed by Niu Niu as well as selected excerpts from
Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto, composed by Chinese composers Chen Gang and He Zhanhao, with students from the French International School.
Voyage with Van Gogh
First Initiative Foundation (FIF) is delighted to announce "Voyage With Van Gogh," an upcoming public digital art initiative. This captivating event will feature a multi-sensory outdoor art installation, showcasing a unique digital animation accompanied by a mesmerizing musical composition crafted by esteemed local artists. In addition, a range of community outreach activities will be organized. This unprecedented art experience will unfold from 28th March to 31st May 2024 as a part of Art@Harbour 2024 organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government (LCSD), transforming Victoria Harbour front into a vibrant canvas of visual and audio creativity, captivating viewers of all backgrounds, bringing joy to local communities in urban landscapes, amidst the hustle and bustle.
